Promotions by day and time
Updated on Tuesday 03 November 2026
Lower prices on your quietest days and hours, with no code: clients see the discount on your page, on the calendar and when they pick a time.
Promotions lower the price of your services on the days and at the times you choose, without the client typing any code. They fill your quietest hours: “Tuesday and Wednesday 9 to 12, 20% off every service” or “colouring for ₲150,000 on Mondays”.
Clients see it in three places:
- On your page, under each service with a promotion, a line such as “Up to 20% off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 9 to 12”.
- On the online booking calendar, days with a free time inside a promotion carry the discount under the date (for example −20%).
- On the day’s times, each time with a promotion carries its tag, and once it’s picked the Summary shows the regular price struck through, the promotional price and a line such as “Tuesday promo −20%”.
Create a promotion
- Go to Promotions in the side menu.
- Tap New promotion.
- Fill in:
- Service: All services, a category or a single service.
- Location: All locations or just one.
- Days: the weekdays it applies on. At least one.
- Time window (optional): from and to. Empty means all day.
- Valid (optional): from and to which date. Empty means no start or end date; the end date is included.
- Discount: Percentage (20%), Amount off (₲20,000 off) or Promotional price (the service costs ₲150,000). A promotional price is for a single service and must be lower than its price.
- Active: untick it to pause the promotion without deleting it.
- Tap Create promotion.
The list shows each promotion with its days and hours, when it’s valid, the discount, how many bookings used it and its status: Active, Paused, Scheduled (not started yet) or Ended.
From the heat map
With the Analytics module, the bookings heat map marks the quiet hours inside your opening hours. Tap one and Promote this time slot opens a new promotion with that day and hour already chosen; you only fill in the discount.
Which times qualify
- The start time counts. With 09:00 to 12:00, an appointment at 11:30 gets the promotion even if it ends at 12:30, and one at 12:00 doesn’t.
- Past midnight. Hours such as 22:00 to 02:00 run into the next day and belong to the day they start on: a Friday promotion from 22:00 to 02:00 covers Saturday at 01:00, not Friday at 01:00.
- The business’s time zone. Days, hours and validity dates are read in your business’s time zone, daylight saving changes included.
- Several services in one booking. The promotion is checked at the booking’s start time and lowers only the services it covers.
- A professional’s own price. If a professional charges a different price for the service, the percentage or amount comes off their price. The price never goes below zero or up.
What your page shows
- The line shows while the promotion can be booked: active, not ended, and with a day ahead within how far ahead clients can book. If it hasn’t started, it says when it does (“starting Nov 10”); if it has an end date, until when.
- “Up to”: with an amount off or a promotional price, the line shows the largest percent it takes off any professional’s price; no client gets more than it says.
- It names only the days the promotion’s location is open, with the promotion’s hours inside its opening hours.
- With more than one location, the line names the promotion’s location.
- Up to three promotions per service, biggest discount first.
- The calendar’s −N% shows only on days with a free time inside the promotion: if that day’s promoted times are all taken, the day doesn’t carry it.
When several promotions match
The client gets the best one: the one that leaves the lowest price on each service. Promotions never add up. If two leave the same price, the older one is used.
Promotions and discount codes
A code and a promotion never add up. If the client enters a code at a time with a promotion, Citauno compares the two and applies whichever takes off more:
- If the code takes off more, the booking is charged at the regular price with the code.
- If the promotion takes off more, the promotion stays and the code isn’t used (it doesn’t count as a use). The client sees “This time’s promotion already gives you a bigger discount.”
A code that doesn’t exist or has expired is still refused as always.
The same goes when your team puts a code on an existing booking, from its page or from Checkout: if the promotion takes off more, the code doesn’t go on. If the code goes on and is taken off later, the booking stays at the regular price.
Packages, deposits and commissions
- Packages: a package covers the service at the promotional price.
- Deposits: the deposit is worked out on the promotional price.
- Commissions: they follow Settings → Commissions. By default, on the discounted price, the promotional one. If you chose On the list price, on the regular price.
Staff bookings and changes
- Bookings your team enters get the time’s promotion too, including Another time: the Summary shows the promotional price for the typed-in time.
- With Anyone, the booking goes to whichever professional costs least at that time, promotion included.
- If the client or your team move a booking, the price is worked out again at the new time: it can gain or lose the promotion. A booking with a discount code stays at the regular price with its code.
- Editing or deleting a promotion never changes bookings already made: they keep the price they were shown, the regular price and the promotion applied. On the booking page, the service says Promotional price with the regular price struck through.
