Courses: workshops whose classes block the calendar
Updated on Sunday 01 November 2026
Set up a course with its classes, choose what part of the calendar is blocked while it runs, and publish it.
If your business teaches courses or workshops (for example “Color theory, 4 Saturdays from 9 to 12”), the Courses module organizes them with their classes and takes whoever teaches them off the calendar while they run, so nobody books on top.
How to turn it on
Go to More features and tap Turn on next to Courses. It is included in your plan. See More features: the modules in your plan.
Create a course
In the side menu, open Courses and tap New course. The owner and the admins create them.
- The course: name, description and image. The name and description can be written in Spanish, Portuguese and English.
- Where: in person, at one of your locations, or online, with the video call link.
- Who teaches it: professionals from your team, or a guest teacher.
- Calendar during each class:
- Block its professionals: the selected professionals take no bookings at any location during the classes.
- Block the whole location: the location takes no bookings during the classes.
- Block nothing: for a guest teacher or a separate room.
- Classes: each with its date, start and end. If a class ends after midnight, enter the end anyway: it ends the next day. The classes of a course cannot overlap.
- Enrollment and price: capacity, waitlist, enrollment deadline, price and how it is paid. Charging online needs tpago.
Draft and published
A new course is saved as a draft: it blocks nothing. When you tap Publish (or Save and publish), its classes block the calendar. To publish, the course needs at least one class.
If there are bookings during any class already, Citauno shows them before saving. A course never cancels or moves bookings: review them, change what you need and save again to confirm. On the course page, each class lists the bookings that overlap it.
On the calendar
Each class shows on the calendar with the course name. Tapping it opens the course card. Classes are not edited or deleted from Blocked times: you change them from the course, and they are not in that list.
The professional who teaches the course sees its classes on their own calendar.
Enrollees
On the course page, the Enrollees tab shows who has a spot, the waitlist and who dropped out.
- Enroll someone: search for a client or add one on the spot. If the course is full, the person goes on the waitlist; without a waitlist, you can give them a spot anyway, over capacity.
- Record payment: note what they paid at the venue, all or part of it, and how. The course shows what each person paid and owes.
- Drop from course: frees the spot, which goes to the first person on the waitlist. We email both.
- Give them a spot: moves someone up from the waitlist ahead of their turn, even over capacity.
- Payment to refund: when someone who paid drops out, it stays marked until you tap Mark refunded. You make the refund yourself, outside Citauno.
- Download CSV: the list with contact details, payments and attendance.
Raise the capacity and the waitlist moves up on its own. Each enrollee gets an email when they enroll, when they move up from the waitlist, if you drop them and if the classes change. The professional who teaches the course and the people who run the business get a notice in Notifications.
Attendance
In the Attendance tab, each class that has started has a box per enrollee: tap once for present, again for absent and once more to clear it. The professional who teaches the course marks attendance from their own calendar, under Courses.
Change, close or cancel
- Edit: moving, adding or removing classes updates the calendar right away.
- Close enrollment: the course goes on and its classes stay on the calendar.
- Cancel course: frees the calendar and drops every enrollee, who get an email. Anyone who already paid stays marked for a refund. The classes stay on record.
- Delete: only a draft or a cancelled course.
If the module is turned off
New courses cannot be created or published, and nobody new can be enrolled. Published courses stay on the calendar and can still be opened, closed and cancelled; their enrollees, payments and attendance are still managed. Turning the module off deletes nothing.
