Thermal printer: visit slips, day sheets and the day's summary
Updated on Tuesday 03 November 2026
Print visit slips, each professional's day sheet, the day's summary, receipts and each sale's ticket as you charge, on an 80 or 58 mm printer or A4.
Citauno prints on the thermal printer you already have at the front desk (the 80 or 58 mm roll kind) and on an ordinary printer, on A4. There is nothing from Citauno to install: printing goes through the browser, with your printer’s driver.
What you can print
| What | Where the button is | What it holds |
|---|---|---|
| A visit’s slip | On the booking’s page and in the calendar popup: Print visit slip | Your business and location, the booking code, the day and time, the client’s name, the professional, the services with their minutes, the products the professional added from their agenda and the booking’s notes. No prices: what is charged prints on the sale’s ticket. |
| Each professional’s day sheet | In the Calendar: Print day sheet. In a professional’s agenda, the same button prints only their day. | One sheet per professional and location, with each booking in order: time, client (first name and last initial, for example “John P.”), services with their minutes, products and notes. A professional with nothing that day prints No bookings. |
| The day summary | In Sales → Sales and invoices, on the Totals card: Print day summary | How many sales, voided sales and credit notes; what was sold, the credit notes and the balance due; what was collected per payment method (cash, QR, card…); tips apart. For every location or one. |
| A package receipt | On the package’s receipt (Packages → Assigned → the package → Receipt): Print receipt | The package, the client, the validity, the sessions and the price, with “Not a tax invoice”. |
The sale’s ticket (receipt or invoice), each payment’s receipt and the cash count come out as PDFs the width of your roll, 80 or 58 mm (the one Use 58 mm sets on the sale):
- The sale’s ticket: on the checkout screen, next to Download PDF, and on the sale. It can print by itself when you charge: see Print the ticket when charging.
- A payment’s receipt: in the sale’s list of payments, each payment has Receipt (A4) and Ticket (the same receipt on the roll), with “Not a tax invoice”.
- Cash count: when you close the shift; see Checkout and invoicing.
Print the ticket when charging
On the screen you see after charging, under the ticket, tap Print the ticket when charging. From then on, every time you charge in that browser, the print dialog opens by itself with the sale’s ticket: pick the printer (or it’s already picked) and it prints.
- It prints once per charge. Reloading the page, coming back to it or opening an old sale doesn’t print again.
- For another copy, tap Print again.
- It belongs to that browser, like the paper: turn it on at the front desk’s computer, not on your phone. Turn off switches it off.
- With Chrome started with
--kiosk-printing(see below), the ticket prints straight away, without the dialog. - Electronic invoices don’t print by themselves: their document is the KuDE, which you download from the sale.
- Safari sometimes doesn’t open the dialog from the checkout screen: a notice says so, and the Ticket button opens the PDF to print it.
Example. At the front desk you turn on Print the ticket when charging once. From then on, tapping Charge and issue opens the dialog with the 80 mm ticket; press Enter and hand it to the client.
The day sheet
The calendar’s button prints the day you are looking at, with the location picked in the calendar (or all of them) and, if you picked some professionals in the filter, only those. Each professional prints on a sheet of their own: if your printer cuts the paper by itself, you get as many slips as professionals, ready to hand out. Bookings that don’t have a professional yet print on a separate sheet, No professional assigned.
Pending, confirmed and completed bookings print; cancelled ones and no-shows don’t. Inactive professionals don’t print.
In each professional’s agenda (their own panel), Print day sheet prints only their bookings: never another professional’s.
Example. At 7 p.m., in the calendar, you move to tomorrow and tap Print day sheet: three slips come out, one per barber, with tomorrow’s bookings.
The day summary
It is the Totals card of Sales and invoices on paper. It prints the list’s period: if you are looking at Today, today’s summary; if you picked several days, those days’. With All dates it prints today’s. At the top of the sheet you pick All or one location.
Example. At closing time you print the summary and hand it to the owner: 23 sales, Gs. 3,450,000 sold; cash Gs. 1,900,000, QR Gs. 850,000, card Gs. 700,000.
Amounts follow the same rule as on screen: if a manager may not see the business’s amounts, or if you hid amounts with the eye, the summary prints counts only (see Hidden amounts). To print the amounts, show them with the eye first.
Choosing the paper
At the top of every sheet there is a bar (it doesn’t print) with Print and the paper: 80 mm, 58 mm or A4.
- The first time it uses your tickets’ width (the one set with Use 58 mm on a sale), or 80 mm.
- If you pick another, that browser remembers it next time: the printer belongs to the computer, so the front desk’s can print on 58 mm and the office’s on A4.
- On 80 and 58 mm the text fits the width the printer can print (72 and 48 mm), and long names wrap to the next line instead of being cut.
Installing the thermal printer
- Install the maker’s driver (Epson, Bematech, Xprinter, Star…) on the front desk’s computer. Without a driver, the browser doesn’t see the printer.
- In the driver’s preferences, pick the roll size: for example “Roll Paper 80 x 297 mm” or “72 mm x Receipt”. If the printer has a cutter, turn on the cut at the end of each page.
- Print a test page from the system to check it works.
Printing from the browser
Print opens the browser’s print dialog. The first time:
- Pick your thermal printer under Destination.
- Under More settings: Margins: None, Scale: Default (100%) and untick Headers and footers (otherwise the page’s address and the date print at the top and bottom).
- Paper size: the roll’s, the same as in the driver.
Chrome and Edge remember these settings for next time.
Printing without the dialog (Chrome)
If you want the sheet to print straight away, without the dialog, open Chrome with the --kiosk-printing option: it prints at once on the computer’s default printer.
- Windows: right-click Chrome’s shortcut → Properties → in Target, at the end and after a space, add
--kiosk-printing. Close Chrome completely and open it from that shortcut. Make the thermal printer the default in Settings → Printers. - Mac: with Chrome closed, open Terminal and type
open -a "Google Chrome" --args --kiosk-printing.
From a phone
The buttons are on the phone too. The sheet opens in a new tab and Print uses the phone’s printing: it works with printers that take AirPrint (iPhone) or Mopria (Android), over wifi. Many front-desk thermal printers are USB only: for those, print from the computer they are plugged into.
Who can print what
- Visit slip and day sheet (calendar): the owner, admins and managers, like the calendar.
- Day sheet in the professional’s panel: each professional, only their own.
- Day summary: whoever sees Sales and invoices, with the amounts rule above.
- Package receipt: the owner and admins, like the receipt.
- The sale’s ticket, receipt on the roll and Print the ticket when charging: whoever charges in Sales.
If something goes wrong
- The text prints tiny or cut off: the paper picked isn’t your roll’s. Pick 80 or 58 mm at the top of the sheet, and the same size in the driver.
- The page’s address prints at the top or bottom: untick Headers and footers in the dialog.
- A lot of blank paper at the end: in the driver, pick a roll size or turn on the cut per page.
- The printer doesn’t show up: the driver is missing, or the printer is off or unplugged.
What it doesn’t do
- It is not a fiscal printer and prints no paper invoices: the receipt says “Not a tax invoice”. The invoice is issued when charging, as always.
- It doesn’t open the cash drawer or drive the printer directly: everything goes through the driver and the browser’s print dialog.
